  • Working in a company employing plenty of IT savvy developers and application support staff we used to rely on those guys taking time out of their day to spec out servers, manage updates, look after domain accounts, ensure server uptime and really sort out our network overall. It has provided us with total confidence that any computing problem that we have will be promptly resolved, whether it be big or small, at work or at home.   • Before KMT took over our computer support, I was never confident about the reliability of our work computer system. Like many businesses, we are completely computerised: appointments, treatment notes, billing, recalls and all correspondence are kept in our patient management software. All business financials and tax reporting are also kept on our work system. If we do not have our servers or computers running, we have no idea who has an appointment, we don’t know what treatment is required and we can not process any payments. One can imagine the financial loss to the business and the aggravation that will be caused to the clients, and to the staff. Our back up was haphazard, relying on staff to remember to back up the server each night also left us vulnerable to loss of data. There was no off-site back up and we were hoping that there would never be a fire or a flood as this will result in permanent loss of data. Every week, time was spent trying to resolve one computer issue after another – the network keeps dropping out on one workstation, updates not installing correctly, our mail being hosted elsewhere, with periodic shutdowns, our printers working one moment, refusing to print another. We lived in fear – fear of upgrading a workstation, do we know the passwords, is the guy that installed our system still working in the computer industry? If we have a catastrophic problem with our server, is he available to attend to us straight away or is this a part-time gig for him in addition to his main full time employment?

    Since we contracted KMT to look after our computer services, our computer issues have disappeared. We have our own mail server, all workstations are doing exactly what they are meant to do. I no longer need to pretend that I know anything about setting up networks or solve hardware/software conflicts. We now have on site and off site back up that just works quietly, in the background. We 4 printers, 3 scanners, label makers, 16 work stations, 3D scanner and everything just works. The team at KMT are prompt, always available and proactively solve problems before they happen. This is what business computing was always meant to be, and now, thanks to KMT, it is in our business. Yes, every month we have to pay support fees, but I figure that we will lose more money, staff and clients without KMT support. At the end of the day, it is nice to have someone else responsible for our computer services.

    I strongly recommend Scott, Brad and the team at KMT to any small, medium or large enterprise. They do their part to allow you to concentrate on your business, with no interruption of computer services. Can you afford to have your system down for 1 week, 1 day or even 1 hour?
